Thursday should have been a gentle walking day. However, they have gone for it, they arrived at base camp a day ahead of schedule, all well but tired. They now have two days rest and time to catch up on some much needed washing, not just clothes. The last shower they all had was Monday morning! The scenery on the way to base camp was spectacular with view s of the final goal most of the way keeping them all going.

  1. Hi, Has anyone found out who had the sunstroke yet? Mind you, as you said they all arrived, well but tired, I guess the drama on that small account is over! I am a little worried that they are not pacing themselves too... it's always best to acclimatize slowly! We don't want anybodies head blowing up before they get beyond base camp! Not that I'm the oracle or anything, I get vertigo on the first rung of a ladder!Hope they enjoy the rest and the views for the next few days. Well Done to all on getting to base! Jac.

  2. My guess is that they want to set a record ( or just get it over and done with!) Why else would they be in such a rush? Anyway, I'm glad they all made it so far. Have a good rest now guys.XXX

  3. Ummm, I'm a little concerned that a gentle walk was more than it should have been and they arrived a whole day earlier...is this wise? Too much too soon and they'll suffer for it later, the schedule is there for a reason...surely?

  5. Spoke to Ady last night, he has altitude sickness, although he says he's ok, I expressed the concerns about them being a day ahead of schedule and he said it was the guides decision and now they have the extra day at base camp resting before the next part... They have been up to the camp and back down to base camp again, they've had a snow blizzard and it's all warm jumpers now as the temperature has really dropped! I was a bit worried about him having altitude sickness, but then I remembered he was the same for the first few days when he did Kili, and once he got it out the way he was fine and made it to the top with no difficulties. Hopefully this one will be the same... even if a 'little' higher!
